We use touchscreen devices all the time, but have you ever stopped to look at them more carefully?

During the summer of 2014, SerraGlia tried to spend a week without using his phone or tablet.

He never actually managed to stop using his iPad completely. But when it was turned off, he soon started to notice curious traces of his fingerprints on the screen.

At first look, these traces look like abstract paintings or drawings done without a plan. But if we look at them carefully, they can actually reveal more than what they seem.

In fact, every trace is left after a logical and rational sequence of gestures: from writing an email to browsing a webpage, the finger traces left on a device's screen follow your precise intentions and actions.

TRACES collects the results of a photographic exploration (and some thoughts) made during that week.
